This picture was taken by Kavaun's Aunt Sara just before our guests arrived. Kavaun was in good spirits all day and pushed through without his afternoon nap. We designed and created our own invitations with a prince theme. The decorations included the usual balloons and streamers and Beata special-ordered a cake shaped like a crown and our blue and white striped tent housed all of our prince plates and crown table decorations.
This started as a place to write about my first summer at home with my son and has evolved into celebrating presence with my family. Baba means dad in Farsi and my children refer to me as baba. These are snapshots that honor my wife Beata and our family. These passages are not intended to duplicate my handwritten journal.

Make sure you keep ALL journal entries, photos, and comments handy for when Kavaun gets to that age when he thinks you're mean, too strict, and don't know anything....just so he can be reminded of how much time, effort, and love you put into every day of his life from the time he was conceived! :-)
